Reality Check

~“Pardon me my fair, fairy maiden…” Gavriel paused, “I am Captain of the Fairy Guard, do you require…”

“I know who you are.” The maiden interrupted. “And, no. I don’t require any assistance by the likes of you.” Her wings fluttered in irritation.Gavriel knew that voice, and it didn’t belong to any fairy maiden that he knew. He blinked the sun out of his eyes and looked again at the fairy maiden. This second take revealed an entirely different visage from that of his first glance. Gavriel’s jaw dropped in astonishment. “You, I… I mean, Funnel.” He stammered.

“Yes… me Funnel, you Gavriel.” She replied sarcastically as she raised her thoroughly bent and broken funnel that had obviously taken the brunt of the fall. Funnel examined Gavriel  and noticed that he wasn’t in his uniform nor did he have a squad of fairy guards with him. Perhaps Bomar, the barkeep, hadn’t reported her and her antics yet? It was then that she noticed Gavriel’s mouth hanging open wide and his unwavering gaze. “What? Haven’t you ever seen a pixie wrapped up in a torn and tattered banner while standing on a horse apple, all the while with a dragonfly on her back?” ~

The Legend of Woodsy Wino

For a while now, I have been doing illustrations and developing story elements for Woodsy Wino, a wine enthusiast website that also sells wine charms and other accessories. You can visit the website at http://www.woodsywino.com/

Otherwise, in the future, go to http://www.woodsywino.com/legend-archive.html to keep up with the developing story as it is updated weekly.

Here is a selection of my favorite works so far...

D&D Airship

An airship that I came up with for my players to go bounding across Faerun. That is until they found a "Deck of Many Things" that resulted in an nonviable party to continue the campaign... But, I did spend some time coming up with it, so I figured there may be a party out there in need of an airship for their Dungeons and Dragons adventures.

Some of you might notice that the interior is far bigger than the dimensions of the boat itself... Well, that's where extra dimensional spaces come into play. Also, the cargo hold map is not facing the right way when laid out properly with the rest of the maps...  Wrong perspective and the only solution is to either ignore that little bit, or redraw it... I chose to ignore it...

I also created a top down map of the deck and a character sheet for the ship. I homebrewed the damaged mast speed rules. Just thought it would be more interesting that way... I also planned on having damage have to be repaired by a master shipwright at 100 Gp / hit point of damage. I wanted the players to value their ship and protect it so there needed to be a Gp consequence for damage.

Anyways, I hope someone out there DM or player might find use of these. If you like it and use it, I'd be interested in hearing what kind of adventure you conducted with it... :)

New D&D Minis

"Bo" An enterprising Succubus with a Vegas flare...

"Tibur Exsurgo" An amnesiac Dragonborn of Bahumut, that also happens to be one of the splinters of Ariel's soul.

"Ariel" A shadow dragon in human form. Her soul was splintered into many disparate identities and it took thousands of years for her to find and reabsorb those splintered parts. Ariel was the courtesan identity, the most confident part of her soul and thus prefers this form when not in her natural dragon form.

"Schnob" A runt of a Goblin that has an interest in the arts... thus the paintbrush.
